Lift North America is committed to preventing occupational illness and injury in the workplace as well as to the prevention of workplace violence and harassment. Lift North America is ultimately responsible for any person doing work or visiting any of our sites. The company will take whatever steps are reasonable to protect our workers from any foreseeable hazards.
In fulfilling this commitment, we will provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment as indicated by acceptable industry practices and compliance with all legislative requirements. We will work together to create a workplace that is psychologically safe. We will strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards by providing continuous safety monitoring of all work being performed.
This policy applies to all Lift North America employees, visitors and contractors. Everyone is expected to uphold this policy and to work together in the prevention of workplace Health and Safety and hazards.
Together, we can help control accidental loss and loss prevention by adhering to our health and safety policy and through good communication involving all management and employees.
Safe and healthy work conditions will be always maintained by all supervisors in his or her work area. All employees will be held accountable to comply with the safe work procedures, and the internal responsibility system called the Joint Health and Safety Committee will audit our facilities monthly. The committee will work in conjunction with Human Resources and senior management on any safety recommendations.
All employees will perform their jobs safely in accordance with legislative requirements and safe work practices.
All workers are legally required to report all accidents and hazards that they are aware of to their supervisor or employer.
Lift North America will provide continuous improvement in Health & Safety and always provide proper security for our business and our facilities.
Violence & Harassment
Lift North America is committed to providing a safe work environment, free of workplace violence and harassment, where all workers are treated with respect and dignity. Workplace violence or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and we will be proactive in its prevention.
We will investigate all reported incidents of violence and harassment in an objective and timely manner, take necessary action, and provide appropriate support for victims. It is important that all incidents of workplace violence or harassment are reported to your manager/supervisor or the employer.
Alcohol and Drugs in the Workplace
Lift North America is committed to firmly and fairly enforcing the principle that its employees or independent contractors must not be impaired while at work or while conducting Lift North America business (whether at a Lift North America workplace or elsewhere).
It is expected that employees come to work sober and alert on a daily basis. No employee shall attend work in an impaired or “hung over” condition.
No employee may possess, consume, sell or transport alcohol or illicit drugs or recreational marijuana while in the course of his or her duties, including during lunch and/or rest periods or while on the premises of Lift North America or while conducting Lift North America business (whether at a Lift North America workplace or elsewhere).
